(English below) Due studenti dell’Università di Pavia sono stati selezionati dalla commissione dell’European Student Assembly (ESA) per rappresentare Unipv e l’Alleanza EC2U nell’Assemblea annuale, a Strasburgo, che si è svolta dal 31 maggio al 2 giugno 2023.
Di seguito una testimonianza diretta degli studenti, Ines Shopi e Mehdi Alipour Masoumabad:
L’Assemblea degli studenti europei (ESA) è un progetto che riunisce ogni anno più di 200 studenti provenienti da 40 diverse alleanze comunitarie universitarie europee (EUA) per discutere questioni attuali, elaborare raccomandazioni politiche per il futuro dell’Europa e sostenerle tra stakeholder e decision-maker. Dieci diversi panel discutono argomenti che spaziano, solo per citarne alcuni, dall’istruzione, salute e difesa, alle città sostenibili e alle connessioni europee.
Questa è la seconda edizione dell’European Students Assembly, che ha riunito studenti provenienti da 28 diversi paesi europei con lo scopo di condividere esperienze e trovare soluzioni ai problemi che ogni studente affronta nella vita quotidiana. Abbiamo iniziato a lavorare nel nostro panel (che era “istruzione e salute”) a marzo, per identificare i problemi più importanti di uno studente europeo. Abbiamo seguito incontri con esperti del settore e workshop sulla stesura delle policy per poter suggerire le nostre soluzioni nel modo più sintetico e tempestivo possibile.
Dopo queste sessioni online, noi e tutti gli altri partecipanti abbiamo formulato diverse raccomandazioni e ci siamo riuniti al Parlamento europeo a Strasburgo per un’Assemblea di tre giorni per votare le raccomandazioni più efficaci di ciascun panel. Le raccomandazioni del nostro panel sono state accolte con successo in modo positivo con dibattiti costruttivi. Inoltre, gli studenti hanno avuto voce in capitolo nel processo decisionale all’interno del cuore dell’Europa, il Parlamento europeo.
Questa esperienza è stata la rappresentazione ideale di una generazione unita e promettente di studenti europei che garantisce cambiamenti concreti e imminenti, e siamo grati di aver avuto la possibilità di rappresentare l’Università di Pavia e l’Alleanza EC2U, di cui siamo orgogliosamente parte.

Two students from the University of Pavia were selected by the commission of the European Student Assembly (ESA) to represent Unipv and the EC2U Alliance in the annual Assembly, in Strasbourg, from the 31st of May to the 2nd of June.
Below is a direct testimony of the students, Ines Shopi and Mehdi Alipour Masoumabad: 
The European Student Assembly (ESA) is a project that gathers each year more than 200 students from 40 different European Universities Community Alliances (EUA) to debate current issues, draft political recommendations for the future of Europe, and advocate them among stakeholders and decision-makers. Ten different panels discuss topics that range, just to mention some, from Education, Health, and Defence, to Sustainable Cities and European connections.
This is the second edition of the European Student Assembly, which brought together students from 28 different European countries with the scope of sharing experiences and coming up with solutions for issues that every student faces in their daily life. We started working in our panel (namely “education and health”) in March, to identify the most prominent problems of a European student. We followed meetings with experts in the fields, and workshops on policy drafting in order to be able to suggest our solutions in the most concise and prompt way possible.
After these online sessions, we and all the participants came up with several recommendations and we gathered at the European Parliament in Strasbourg for a three-day Assembly to vote on the most effective recommendations of each panel. The recommendations of our panel were successfully welcomed in a positive manner with fruitful. Furthermore, students got their say in the decision-making inside the heart of Europe, the European Parliament.
This experience was the ideal representation of a united and promising generation of European students that guarantee concrete and imminent changes, and we are grateful to have had the chance to represent the University of Pavia and the EC2U Alliance, which we are proudly part of.
