(English below) Si è aperta giovedì 13 ottobre 2022 in Aula Volta la inaugurazione della quinta edizione del Foundation Year Program dell’Università di Pavia. A dare il benvenuto agli studenti iscritti per il 2022-23 sono intervenuti il Direttore del Programma, Prof. Stefano Rastelli e la Coordinatrice, Dott.ssa Elena Voltan, i docenti e lo staff del Foundation Year, STEP-ESN Pavia e due ex studentesse delle scorse edizioni.
Ideato nell’anno accademico 2018-19 dal Prof. Stefano Rastelli, professore associato di Acquisizione dell’Italiano come seconda Lingua presso l’Ateneo pavese il Foundation Year Program dell’Università di Pavia è un corso preparatorio in lingua italiana rivolto a studenti che non soddisfano il requisito dei 12 anni di scolarità richiesti per l’accesso a un corso di laurea in Italia, ma anche a coloro che sono interessati ad acquisire o a migliorare la competenza linguistica in italiano in preparazione a un percorso universitario in Italia. Il programma prevede infatti un corso di lingua italiana della durata di 9 mesi, strutturato su più livelli, e 4 corsi erogati in italiano caratterizzanti le tre aree di studio scientifica, umanistica ed economico-giuridica.
Nel corso degli anni il numero di iscritti al Programma è aumentato esponenzialmente partendo dai 10 studenti della prima edizione pilota nell’anno 2018-19 sino ai 200 studenti dell’edizione corrente. Le classi del 2022/23 provengono da oltre 40 Paesi del Mondo: Russia, Kazakhstan Myanmar Ukraine Turkey sono le nazionalità più rappresentate.
Al superamento dell’esame finale gli studenti potranno decidere di iscriversi a un corso di laurea triennale a Unipv. Per l’anno 22-23 ben il 45% degli studenti promossi al Foundation Year si è iscritto a Unipv.
La cerimonia di apertura è stata l’occasione per augurare agli studenti di poter cogliere e sfruttare pienamente tutte le opportunità offerte da questa esperienza di studio e di vita.

The inauguration of the fifth edition of the Foundation Year Program of the University of Pavia took place on Thursday 13 October in Aula Volta. The Program Director, Prof. Stefano Rastelli and the Coordinator, Dr. Elena Voltan, the teachers and staff of the Foundation Year, STEP-ESN Pavia and two former students welcomed the classes enrolled for 2022-23.
Conceived in the academic year 2018-19 by Prof. Stefano Rastelli, associate professor of Acquisition of Italian as a second language at the University of Pavia, the Foundation Year Program of the University of Pavia is a preparatory course in Italian for students who do not meet the 12-year schooling requirement for access to a degree course in Italy, but also to those who are interested in acquiring or improving language skills in Italian in preparation for a university course in Italy. In fact, the program includes an Italian language course lasting 9 months, structured on several levels, and 4 courses delivered in Italian characterizing the scientific, humanistic and economic-legal area of study.
Over the years, the number of students enrolled in the Program has increased exponentially starting from 10 students of the first pilot edition in the year 2018-19 up to 200 students of the current edition. Students for the classes of 2022/23 come from over 40 countries around the world: Russia, Kazakhstan Myanmar Ukraine Turkey are the most represented nationalities.
Upon passing the final exam, students can decide to enroll in a three-year degree course at Unipv 45% of successefull 21-22 Foundation year students enrolled in Unipv for the year 22-23.
The opening ceremony was an opportunity to wish students to be able to fully grasp and exploit all the opportunities offered by this study and life experience.
