(English below) La storia dell’alimentazione e le culture del cibo rappresentano un prisma attraverso cui conoscere, indagare e confrontare le identità collettive delle società tanto nel tempo antico quanto nel tempo presente. Tuttavia come si forma una cultura del cibo? È essa mutevole oppure rimane immobile nel corso del tempo? Come circolano le culture del cibo? E infine, come si rapportano le istituzioni a tutte le problematiche legate al soddisfacimento delle necessità delle società in cui operano?
Per rispondere a queste, e altre domande la Winter School “Entangled food histories. Mobility in food cultures from ancient history to contemporary times” (12 -16 dicembre 2022 Università di Pavia; 21 dicembre 2022 online) vuole indagare il concetto di mobilità abbracciando contesti spaziali e temporali estremamente diversificati, dal mondo antico a quello contemporaneo.
A chi è rivolta?
La Winter School è rivolta a studenti di triennale e magistrale afferenti principalmente ai corsi di laurea in archeologia, storia e scienze politiche.

Parteciperanno sia professori e ricercatori sia referenti di organizzazioni internazionali da tutto il mondo. Il programma è disponibile sul sito (online a breve)
Didattica
Le lezioni si terranno in lingua inglese per un totale di 38 ore in presenza (12 – 16 dicembre) e 4 online (21 dicembre). Lezioni frontali, seminari e lavori di gruppo condurranno i partecipanti a un apprendimento dinamico e allo sviluppo di un pensiero critico in ambito storico, dando gli strumenti teorici e metodologici per continuare a stimolare l’interesse sull’argomento. 
A tutti i partecipanti sarà rilasciato un certificato di partecipazione. Per gli studenti del Dipartimento di Scienze politiche saranno riconosciuti 6 CFU
Iscrizione
Le domande di partecipazione dovranno essere presentate entro il 15/11/2022 secondo le modalità riportate nel bando (sotto riportato).
AVVISO: La scadenza per la presentazione delle domande è stata prorogata al 30 novembre 2022.
Per gli studenti dell’Università di Pavia la partecipazione alla Winter School è gratuita.
Per gli esterni che si iscrivono entro il 15 ottobre la quota di iscrizione è pari a 70 euro. Per chi si iscrive successivamente la quota è di 100 euro.

The history of food and food cultures represents a prism to understand, investigate and compare the collective identities of societies of both in ancient and contemporary times. However, how do food practices develop? Are they volatile or fixed across centuries? How do food cultures circulate and how do they influence each other? Finally, how do institutions confront the problems related to the necessities of the societies they operate for?
To answer these and further questions, the International Winter School Entangled food histories. Mobility in food cultures from ancient history to contemporary times (12 -16 December at the University of Pavia; 21 December online) aims at investigating the concept of mobility both in a practical and symbolic sense and to consider different spatial and temporal contexts, from the ancient to the contemporary world.
Participants
We welcome students enrolled for the academic year 2022-2023 in Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Departments of Social and Political Sciences and Humanities.
Speakers
Lessons will be held by professors, researchers and representatives from Italian and foreign Universities and organizations. The program is available on our website.
Teaching methods
All lessons will be in English. The winter school will include 38 hours of in-person lessons (12-16 December) and 4 hours online (21 December). We will offer taught classes, seminars and group works to learn dynamically and develop critical thinking. The participants will learn the theoretical and methodological instruments to stimulate their interest in this topic.
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance. The students of the Department of Political and Social Sciences can be awarded 6 ECTS.
