(English below – Unipv at the UNIMED General Assembly “Shaping the Mediterranean From Cooperation to Integration”) L’Università di Pavia è membro di UNIMED (Unione delle Università del Mediterraneo), una rete di università che opera in diversi ambiti scientifici con lo scopo di promuovere la ricerca e la formazione nella regione euro mediterranea per contribuire alla cooperazione scientifica, culturale, sociale ed economica. Ad oggi, ne fanno parte 144 università provenienti da 23 paesi di entrambe le sponde del Mediterraneo.
Far parte di questo network, oltre che occasione di grande prestigio, rappresenta per Unipv l’opportunità di accrescere la sua dimensione internazionale e la cooperazione tra Università. Negli anni sono state intraprese diverse iniziative riguardanti sia scambi di mobilità per studenti, staff, professori e ricercatori che progetti Erasmus+, con il supporto dell’ufficio GLOBEC e della U.O.C Mobilità. Al momento, sono attivi due progetti di Erasmus+ di capacity building, ESAGOV coordinato da UNIMED e SAHA coordinato da Unipv (Prof. Morone).
L’assemblea generale si svolge ogni anno e rappresenta un momento strategico in cui tutte le Università aderenti alla rete si incontrano per contribuire ad orientare le politiche euro-mediterranee degli istituti dell’alta formazione e instaurare future collaborazioni con i partner. Quest’anno si è svolta presso la University of Jordan, ad Amman e la delegazione di Unipv era composta da Prof.ssa Antonella Forlino (ProRettrice all’internazionalizzazione), Prof. Antonio Morone (Coordinatore del Corso di Laurea in Studi dell’Africa e dell’Asia), Gaia Garancini (Coordinatore Programma Erasmus+ ICM) e Giulia Falchi (Project manager del GLOBEC).
Attraverso un intenso networking, Unipv si prepara ad affrontare le sfide della cooperazione internazionale con azioni progettuali orientate allo sviluppo sostenibile dell’area e al consolidamento della governance universitaria includendo il coinvolgimento di studenti. I due giorni in Giordania hanno consentito di sviluppare il partenariato accademico, sociale ed economico euro-mediterranei di UNIPV con l’auspicio di potenziare la mobilità ed il ruolo strategico nella cooperazione internazionale.

The University of Pavia is a member of UNIMED (Mediterranean Universities Union), an association of universities that acts in different scientific fields, with the aim of promoting research and education in the Euro-Mediterranean area, to contribute to the scientific, cultural, social, and economic cooperation. It currently counts 144 Universities coming from 23 countries of both shores of the Mediterranean basin.
Being part of this network, as well as being a prestigious occasion, represents an opportunity for UNIPV to enhance its international dimension and the cooperation between universities. Over the years, UNIPV undertook several initiatives, regarding both mobility exchange programs for students, staff, professors, and researchers and as Erasmus+ projects, benefitting from the support of the GLOBEC office and U.O.C Mobilità. To this day, UNIPV activated the two following Erasmus+ capacity building projects: the ESAGOV project coordinated by UNIMED and the SAHA project coordinated by UNIPV (Prof. Morone).
The general assembly takes place every year and represents a strategic occasion where all the associated Universities meet and contribute to guiding the Euro-Mediterranean policies made by the higher education institutes and establishing future cooperation with the partners. This year, the assembly took place in Amman at the University of Jordan, where a delegation, composed of Professor Antonella Forlino (Pro-Rector for the internationalization), Professor Antonio Morone (Master’s Degree in African and Asian Studies coordinator), Gaia Garancini (Erasmus+ ICM Program coordinator), and Giulia Falchi (GLOBEC project manager), represented the University of Pavia.
Through intense networking, UNIPV prepares to face the challenges of international cooperation with project activities oriented to the sustainable development of the area and the reinforcement of the university governance, also involving the students. The two days spent in Jordan allowed the development of the academic, social, and economic Euro-Mediterranean partnership of UNIPV, hoping that this will lead to the enhancement of the mobility and the strategic role in international cooperation.
