European federalism at a cross road: Why we need to rethink federalism around the idea of sovereignty.
Obiettivo del ciclo “European Union: A Political Journey” è aiutare le giovani generazioni a comprendere il ruolo dell’Unione Europea all’interno della comunità internazionale, poiché esse si trovano progressivamente al centro di una dicotomia, ovvero quella tra “europeisti” e “sovranisti”; tra chi ritiene opportuno e chi, invece, inaccettabile, una limitazione della sovranità nazionale perseguita in nome di una comune risoluzione dei problemi.
L’Associazione Studenti del Collegio Alessandro Volta insieme alla Political Society del Collegio ha individuato quattro aree tematiche ritenute cruciali nella realtà europea: il rapporto tra cooperazione internazionale e sovranità nazionale, immigrazione, politiche economiche e Brexit. Il Collegio ha l’onore di ospitare virtualmente cinque esperti che, grazie ai loro studi e alla loro esperienza, analizzeranno la realtà dell’Europa e ne metteranno in luce le potenzialità e le criticità.

European federalism at a cross road: Why we need to rethink federalism around the idea of sovereignty?
The aim of the seminars “European Union: A Political Journey” is to help the younger generation to understand the role of the European Union within the international community, as they are increasingly stuck at the centre of a dichotomy, that is to say that between the “pro-European” and the “sovereigns”. There are those who consider it appropriate and who, on the other hand, unacceptable a limitation of national sovereignty pursued in the name of a common resolution of problems.
The Political Society of the College Alessandro Volta has identified four thematic areas considered crucial in the European reality: the relationship between international cooperation and national sovereignty, immigration, economic policies and Brexit. The College has the honour of hosting virtually five experts who, thanks to their studies and experience, will analyse the reality of Europe and highlight its potential and its critical issues.
