In occasione della Conferenza Annuale del Gruppo di Coimbra, che si è svolta presso l’Università di Colonia (leggi la news), la Prof.ssa Antonella Forlino, ProRettrice all’Internazionalizzazione e Presidente del Centro GLOBEC, è stata eletta componente del Consiglio Esecutivo dell’Associazione.
Il Gruppo di Coimbra è stato fondato nel 1985 quale associazione di università più antiche d’Europa, multidisciplinari e fortemente vocate all’internazionalizzazione. Esso si impegna a creare speciali legami accademici e culturali per promuovere l’internazionalizzazione appunto, attraverso la collaborazione accademica, l’eccellenza nell’apprendimento e nella ricerca, a servizio della società. Esso vuole essere un fulcro, un punto di riferimento utile a segnare la strada per le politiche europee e globali inerenti all’istruzione e alla ricerca, sviluppando tra i suoi membri le migliori pratiche, attraverso un dialogo costante e uno scambio reciproco di esperienza e buone prassi.
Le Università associate sono tutte europee e sono 40:
Il Consiglio Esecutivo è l’organo decisionale fondamentale del Gruppo e ha le seguenti priorità per l’Associazione:
– impegnarsi nell’attuazione dello Spazio europeo della ricerca;
– lavorare alla riforma della valutazione della ricerca;
– contribuire alla strategia europea per le università;
– rafforzare l’impegno del Gruppo Coimbra con la società civile;
– sviluppare politiche, strumenti e linee guida per limitare l’impatto della BREXIT sulle attività principali delle Università.
“L’ingresso del nostro Ateneo nel Consiglio Direttivo del Gruppo di Coimbra sottolinea l’impegno nel continuare la tradizionale partecipazione in questa associazione, cui Pavia contribuisce sin dai suoi esordi. In questo modo, possiamo esserne protagonisti e avere un concreto impatto sulle scelte intraprese”, dichiara la Prof.ssa Forlino.
All’interno del Gruppo sono nati numerosi progetti finanziati dal Programma Erasmus+ e UNIPV ha partecipato e partecipa ad alcuni di essi; merita menzione l’Alleanza europea EC2U, che ha l’ambizioso scopo di costruire un campus pan-europeo ed è costituita da 7 Università, tutte del Gruppo.
Esso, inoltre, è un’opportunità per favorire lo scambio di studenti attraverso il Programma SEN (Student Exchange Network) nonché la mobilità internazionale con i Paesi partner dell’America Latina e dell’Africa, grazie a borse di studio specifiche.

Vicerector Antonella Forlino on the Executive Board of the Coimbra Group
On the occasion of the Coimbra Group‘s Annual Conference, which was held at the University of Cologne (read the news), Prof. Antonella Forlino, Vicerector for Internationalisation and President of the GLOBEC Center, was elected member of the Executive Board (EB) of the Association.
The Coimbra Group was founded in 1985 as an association of the oldest universities in Europe, multidisciplinary and strongly committed to internationalisation. It works for creating special academic and cultural ties to promote internationalisation, through academic collaboration, excellence in learning and research, in and for the society. It wants to be a fulcrum, a point of reference useful to mark the way for European and global policies related to education and research, developing best practices among its members, through a constant dialogue and a mutual exchange of experience and good practices.
The associated Universities are all European and they are 40:
The Executive Board is the key decision-making body of the Group and has the following priorities for the Association:
– to engage in the implementation of the European Research Area, working also on research evaluation reform;
– to contribute to the European strategy for universities;
– to strengthen the Coimbra Group’s engagement with civil society;
– to develop policies, tools and guidelines to limit the impact of BREXIT on the main activities of Universities.
“Being in the Executive Board of the Coimbra Group underlines the commitment to continue the traditional participation in this association, to which Pavia has contributed since its very beginning. In this way, we can play a main role and have a concrete impact on the choices of the Group”, Prof. Forlino says.
Numerous projects financed by the Erasmus+ Program have been born within the Group and UNIPV has participated and participates in some of them; the EC2U European Alliance deserves mention, which has the ambitious goal of building a pan-European campus and it is made up of 7 universities, all of the Group.
Furthermore, the Coimbra Group is an opportunity to promote the exchange of students through the SEN Program (Student Exchange Network) and international mobility with partner countries in Latin America and Africa, thanks to specific scholarships.
