(English below – Students talks about the 3rd EC2U Forum in Salamanca) Si è appena concluso il Terzo Forum della European Alliance for City-Universities (EC2U) ospitato dall’Università di Salamanca. All’evento hanno partecipato le 7 Università partner, provenienti da: Pavia, Poitiers, Iasi, Turku, Salamanca, Jena, Coimbra.
In programma diverse attività e conferenze, che hanno riunito la governance di EC2U, professori e staff tecnico-amministrativo dedicato alle varie attività del progetto, la responsabile dell’Ufficio Europa del Comune di Pavia Maria Spitti, il Presidente di STEP ESN Pavia e il rappresentante degli studenti Angelo Guglielmi.
L’evento ha coinvolto anche una delegazione di 5 studenti dell’Università di Pavia, selezionati tra 120 candidati che hanno risposto al bando.

L’evento si è aperto con una sessione di attività sportive che ha dato modo alle diverse delegazioni di studenti di conoscersi.
Nelle due giornate successive abbiamo avuto l’opportunità di ascoltare diverse conferenze, presentate da professori ed esperti provenienti da tutta Europa: particolarmente emozionante è stato il discorso di apertura del Forum, durante il quale il Professor Ludovic Thilly, Coordinatore generale di EC2U, ha ricordato l’essenza multiculturale dell’Europa e gli obiettivi che l’alleanza si propone per il futuro degli studenti. Abbiamo, poi, partecipato ai tre Virtual Institutes, ovvero conferenze incentrate sui temi di Health and wellbeing, Quality of education e Sustainable cities and communities, su cui si baseranno master e progetti di dottorato sviluppati in unione tra le università partner di EC2U.
All’interno del programma a noi dedicato, abbiamo apprezzato le varie attività sociali organizzate e le due sessioni di dibattito focalizzate sui temi di “Sustainability” e “Quality of education” nelle quali abbiamo ascoltato esperienze dei nostri coetanei europei, ragionato criticamente e proposto soluzioni concrete in un documento presentato l’ultimo giorno del Forum.
L’evento ha dato la possibilità a noi studenti di confrontarci, discutere su tematiche rilevanti per il nostro futuro all’interno di una spazio di dialogo a cui hanno partecipato sia Professori che la governance di EC2U. È stato bello far ascoltare la nostra voce e sentirsi parte attiva del “policy making” del mondo universitario. Il prossimo Forum EC2U si terrà a Pavia nel mese di aprile e vi consigliamo di partecipare !

The Third Forum of the European Alliance for City-Universities (EC2U) hosted by the University of Salamanca has just ended. The 7 partner universities participated in the event: Pavia, Poitiers, Iasi, Turku, Salamanca, Jena, Coimbra. Several activities and conferences were scheduled, which brought together the governance of EC2U, professors and technical-administrative staff dedicated to the various activities of the project, the head of the Europe Office of the Municipality of Pavia Maria Spitti, the President of STEP ESN Pavia and the representative by Angelo Guglielmi students.
The event also involved a delegation of 5 UNIPV students, selected from 120 candidates who responded to the call.

The event opened with a sporting activity session that gave the student delegations a chance to get to know each other.
In the following two days we had the opportunity to listen to various conferences, presented by professors and experts from all over Europe: the opening speech of the Forum was particularly exciting and Professor Ludovic Thilly, General Coordinator of EC2U, recalled the multicultural essence of Europe and the objectives that the alliance proposes for the future of students. We then participated in the three Virtual Institutes, which means conferences focused on the themes of Health and Wellbeing, Quality of education and Sustainable cities and communities, on which masters and doctoral projects have been jointly developed between the partner universities of EC2U.
Within the program dedicated to us, we appreciated the various social activities organized and the two discussion sessions focused on the themes of “Sustainability” and “Quality of education” in which we listened to the experiences of our European peers, reasoned critically and proposed solutions concrete in a document presented on the last day of the Forum.
The event gave us students the opportunity to confront and discuss issues relevant to our future within a space of dialogue in which both professors and the governance of EC2U participated. It was nice to have our voice heard and to feel an active part of the “policy making” of the university world.
The next EC2U Forum will be held in Pavia in April and we advise you to participate!
