(English below: Spring Semester Abroad 2022 starts at Palazzo Vistarino) Studiare la lingua italiana, approfondire la storia più recente dell’Italia e dell’Europa, vivere in una città universitaria come Pavia e arricchire il proprio curriculum grazie a un’esperienza formativa davvero unica: questi gli obiettivi degli studenti della University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign che da pochi giorni sono a Pavia per frequentare lo Spring Semester Abroad. Il Programma, organizzato dalla Fondazione Alma Mater Ticinensis, in collaborazione con l’Università di Pavia (Centro Globec), si svolge a palazzo Vistarino, dove i ragazzi risiedono e frequentano alcuni corsi; gli studenti frequentano anche due corsi in UNIPV, a scelta tra quelli dell’offerta formativa d’Ateneo.
Per molti di loro è la prima esperienza internazionale: un’occasione per conoscere studenti italiani ed europei, confrontarsi con un sistema accademico diverso e approfondire alcune discipline di interesse presso i Dipartimenti dell’Ateneo, da Psicologia a Scienze politiche, da Economia a Studi umanistici.
Lo Spring Semester Abroad Program, che si concluderà in giugno, prevede anche uscite didattiche con docenti dell’Ateneo, occasioni culturali e sociali per scoprire tutte le bellezze del nostro Paese.

Studying the Italian language and the most recent history of Italy and Europe, living a truly unique educational experience in a university city like Pavia: a group of students from the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign is just arrived at Pavia to attend the Spring Semester Abroad. The Program, organized by the Alma Mater Ticinensis Foundation, in collaboration with the University of Pavia (Globec Center in particular), is based at Palazzo Vistarino, where the students live and attend some courses; they also attend other two classes on campus, together with UNIPV students.
For many of them it is their first international experience: an opportunity to meet Italian and European students, deal with a different academic system, and deepen some disciplines of interest at the University Departments, from Psychology to Political Sciences, from Economics to Humanities.
The Spring Semester Abroad Program, which will end in June, also includes field trips with university teachers, cultural and social meetings, and opportunities to discover all the beauties of our country.
