(English below) Si è aperta venerdì 15 ottobre con una cerimonia di inaugurazione in Aula Magna la quarta edizione del Foundation Year Program dell’Università di Pavia. A dare il benvenuto agli studenti del Programma 2021-22 sono intervenuti la Prof.ssa Antonella Forlino, Prorettrice all’Internazionalizzazione, il Direttore del Programma, Prof. Stefano Rastelli, e la Coordinatrice, Dott.ssa Elena Voltan, i docenti e lo staff del Foundation Year e STEP-ESN Pavia. Una parte degli studenti e del pubblico era presente in aula, mentre una parte ha seguito l’evento online.
Ideato nell’anno accademico 2018-19 dal Prof. Stefano Rastelli, professore associato di Acquisizione dell’Italiano come seconda Lingua presso l’Ateneo pavese, in linea con i forti valori tramandati dalla lunga tradizione di internazionalizzazione dell’Ateneo, il Foundation Year Program dell’Università di Pavia è un corso preparatorio in lingua italiana rivolto a studenti che non soddisfano il requisito dei 12 anni di scolarità richiesti per l’accesso a un corso di laurea in Italia, ma anche a coloro che sono interessati ad acquisire o a migliorare la competenza linguistica in italiano in preparazione ad un percorso universitario in Italia. Il programma prevede infatti un corso di lingua italiana della durata di 9 mesi, strutturato su più livelli, e 4 corsi erogati in italiano caratterizzanti le tre aree di studio scientifica, umanistica ed economico-giuridica.
Nel corso degli anni il numero di iscritti al Programma è considerevolmente aumentato, partendo dai 10 studenti della prima edizione pilota nell’anno 2018-19, ai 26 iscritti dell’anno 2019-20, fino ai 47 che hanno partecipato al programma 2020-21. All’edizione 2021-22 appena inaugurata prenderanno parte 130 studenti provenienti da oltre 30 Paesi del Mondo. Fra questi anche 11 studenti iracheni appartenenti al Programma Future Builders patrocinato da ENI Corporate University, grazie a una collaborazione con l’Università degli Studi di Pavia e la Fondazione Alma Mater Ticinensis.
L’edizione 2021-22 segna il ritorno alla didattica in presenza, seppur non esclusivamente, dopo oltre un anno di didattica interamente online.
La cerimonia di apertura è stata l’occasione per augurare agli studenti di poter cogliere e sfruttare pienamente tutte le opportunità offerte da questa esperienza di studio e di vita.

The fourth edition of the Foundation Year Program of the University of Pavia opened on Friday 15 October with a Welcome Ceremony in the Aula Magna. The students were welcomed by Professor Antonella Forlino, Vice Rector for Internationalization, Professor Stefano Rastelli, Program Director along with the Coordinator, Elena Voltan, the professors and the staff of the Foundation Year and STEP-ESN Pavia. Some of the students joined the event online.
Conceived in the academic year 2018-19 by Prof. Stefano Rastelli, Associate Professor of Acquisition of Italian as a second language at the University of Pavia, in line with the strong values of internationalization of the University, the Foundation year Program of the University of Pavia is a preparatory course for students who do not meet the minimum 12 years of schooling required to enroll in a Degree program in Italy but also for those interested in acquiring or improving their linguistic proficiency in Italian in preparation for an academic path. The Program includes an Italian language and culture course lasting 9 months, and four courses taught in Italian characterizing the three study areas available: Science and Medicine, Humanities, Economics, Law, and Political Science.
Over the years the number of students enrolled in the Program has considerably increased, starting from 10 students of the first pilot edition in the year 2018-19, to the 26 students enrolled in the year 2019-20, up to the 47 who participated in the 2020-21 program. 130 students from over 30 countries around the world will take part in the 2021-22 edition that has just opened. Among these also 11 Iraqi students belonging to the Future Builders program sponsored by ENI Corporate University, thanks to a cooperation agreement with the University of Pavia and Fondazione Alma Mater Ticinensis.
The 2021-22 edition marks the return to in-presence teaching, albeit not exclusively, after more than a year of online teaching.
The opening ceremony was an opportunity to wish students to be able to take advantage of all the opportunities offered by this study and life experience.
