(English below) L’Università di Pavia intende supportare gli obiettivi dell’agenda ONU 2030 e del Green Deal Europeo di sostenibilità e di riduzione dell’impatto ambientale della mobilità internazionale per studio, tirocinio, docenza e formazione.
È stato pubblicato il primo Bando TRANSIT – susTainable tRAvels for uNipv International mobiliTy per l’assegnazione di incentivi economici a favore degli studenti dell’Ateneo già selezionati per un periodo di mobilità internazionale. Grazie a questo finanziamento, gli studenti che opteranno per un mezzo sostenibile per raggiungere la destinazione assegnata in ambito di accordi internazionali, potranno godere di un ulteriore supporto pari a 100 euro che sarà erogato in forma di forfait.
“Siamo molto orgogliosi che l’Università di Pavia sia la prima università in Italia e tra le prime in Europa a portare avanti una iniziativa di questo tipo” – afferma la Prof.ssa Antonella Forlino, Pro-Rettrice per l’Internazionalizzazione – “Come già indicato nel green deal europeo, i programmi di mobilità internazionale sono uno strumento chiave per lo sviluppo di consapevolezza, competenze e atteggiamenti adeguati riguardo ai cambiamenti climatici e allo sviluppo sostenibile sia nell’Unione Europea che nel resto del mondo. L’Ateneo ha quindi una duplice responsabilità: da una parte, formare le giovani generazioni e garantire la creazione di professionalità trasversali in grado di portare avanti gli obiettivi dell’agenda 2030; dall’altra, sostenere i ragazzi che si impegnano a portare avanti comportamenti responsabili, consapevoli che determinate scelte non sono mai a costo zero. Contiamo, con questo progetto pilota, di supportare almeno il 30% dei ragazzi in uscita per l’a.a. 21-22”.
Le candidature saranno aperte in due finestre temporali:
- coloro che intendono partire e avviare il periodo di mobilità entro il 31 dicembre 2021 potranno presentare la propria candidatura tra l’8 e il 22 luglio 2021 (scadenza ore 12.00);
- gli studenti in partenza dal 1 gennaio 2022 in poi potranno presentare la propria candidatura tra l’1 e il 30 novembre 2021 (scadenza ore 12.00).
Per poter beneficiare del contributo di Ateneo, gli studenti si dovranno impegnare a raggiungere la destinazione assegnata utilizzando il bus o il treno.
“Questo è un primo passo di una serie di azioni che verranno sviluppate dal Servizio Relazioni Internazionali in collaborazione con l’Office for Sustainable Actions del nostro Ateneo. Stiamo lavorando a tante iniziative che abbiamo promesso all’Europa quando abbiamo ottenuto la certificazione necessaria per partecipare al Programma Erasmus, ECHE: da una guida sostenibile a favore degli studenti internazionali che decidono di passare un periodo del proprio percorso formativo a Pavia, alla realizzazione di progetti per la compensazione parziale delle emissioni di CO2 causate dagli spostamenti internazionali; stiamo inoltre progettando la pubblicazione di una serie di ‘call for ideas’ aperte alla comunità accademica per aiutarci a sviluppare progetti che siano in grado di conciliare una crescita desiderata del numero dei beneficiari in mobilità all’estero con la lotta contro i cambiamenti climatici.”

The University of Pavia intends to support the objectives of the UN 2030 agenda and the European Green Deal on sustainability and reduction of the environmental impact of international mobility for study, internship, teaching and training.
The first TRANSIT – susTainable tRAvels for uNipv International mobiliTy call has been published for the allocation of financial incentives for university students already selected for a period of international mobility. Thanks to this funding, students who opt for a sustainable means to reach the destination assigned within international agreements, will receive an additional support of EUR 100 that will be paid in the form of a lump sum.
“We are very proud that the University of Pavia is the first university in Italy and among the first in Europe to carry out an initiative of this kind” – says Prof.ssa Antonella Forlino, Pro-Rector for Internationalization – “As already indicated in the European green deal, international mobility programmes are a key tool for the development of awareness, appropriate skills and attitudes with regard to climate change and sustainable development both in the European Union and in the rest of the world. The University therefore has a dual responsibility: on the one hand, to train the younger generations and to ensure the creation of transversal professionalism capable of advancing the objectives of the 2030 agenda; On the other hand, support the students who are committed to carrying on responsible behavior, aware that certain choices are never cost-free. We count, with this pilot project, to support at least 30% of the outgoing students for a.y. 21-22”.
Applications will be opened in two time windows:
- those wishing to start the mobility period by 31st December 2021 are required to apply between 8th and 22nd July 2021 (deadline h 12);
- students wishing to start the mobility period from 1 January 2022 can apply between 1st and 30th November 2021 (deadline h12).
In order to benefit from the contribution of the University, students will have to commit themselves to reach their assigned destination using the bus or train.
“This is a first step in a series of actions that will be developed by the International Relations Service in collaboration with the Office for Sustainable Actions of our University. We are working on many initiatives that we promised Europe when we obtained the necessary certification to participate in the Erasmus Programme, ECHE: from a sustainable guide for international students who decide to spend a period of their training in Pavia, to the realization of projects for the partial compensation of CO2 emissions caused by international travel; we are also planning to publish a series of “call for ideas” open to the academic community to help us develop projects that are able to reconcile a desired growth in the number of beneficiaries in mobility abroad with the fight against climate change.”
