L’Università di Pavia ha vinto la call della Commissione Europea “Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) Telecom” atta a offrire cofinanziamenti per stimolare e supportare la diffusione delle infrastrutture di servizi digitali europee (DSI) in diversi settori, tra cui la progettazione e l’attuazione di programmi di master specializzati in Intelligenza Artificiale (AI). L’Ateneo pavese ha vinto con il progetto “eXplainable Artificial Intelligence in healthcare Management“, il quale ha un duplice obiettivo:

  • istituire un programma di master specifico dedicato all’uso dell’AI spiegabile in ambito sanitario, al fine di promuovere lo sviluppo di professionisti altamente qualificati per affrontare la mancanza di competenze digitali altamente specializzate in ambito AI;
  • sviluppare una rete di programmi simili a livello europeo, per avviare progressivamente un master congiunto in “Gestione Digitale della Sanità”.

La proposta vede l’Università di Pavia quale capofila. Il progetto è coordinato dalla Professoressa Maria Chiara Demartini, co-coordinato dalla Professoressa Paola Cerchiello, mentre il coordinamento del Comitato Scientifico è attribuito al Professore Paolo Giudici. Il Professore Riccardo Bellazzi coordina Gruppo di Esperti di AI in sanità. La Dottoressa Valentina Beretta è Teaching Manager del progetto.

L’Ateneo pavese sarà affiancato dalla Goethe University (D), dalla Keele University (UK), Leibniz University Hannover (D) e University of Ljubljana (SL).

Il finanziamento complessivo è di 1.664.557 Euro con una quota di 759.518 euro per Unipv.

THE UNIVERSITY OF PAVIA LEADING THE EUROPEAN PROJECT “EXPLAINABLE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT” FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A MASTER DEDICATED TO THE USE OF EXPLAINABLE AI IN THE HEALTHCARE SECTOR

The University of Pavia has won the call of the European Commission “Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) Telecom” designed to offer co-financing to stimulate and support the spread of European Digital Service Infrastructures (DSI) in various sectors, including the design and implementation of specialized master’s programs in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The University of Pavia won with the project “eXplainable Artificial Intelligence in healthcare Management“, which has a double objective:

  • to establish a specific master’s program dedicated to the use of explainable AI in healthcare, in order to promote the development of highly qualified professionals to address the lack of highly specialized digital skills in AI;
  • to develop a network of similar programs at European level, to progressively launch a joint master in “Digital Health Management”.

The proposal sees the University of Pavia as the leader. The project is coordinated by Professor Maria Chiara Demartini, co-coordinated by Professor Paola Cerchiello, while the coordination of the Scientific Committee is attributed to Professor Paolo Giudici. Professor Riccardo Bellazzi coordinates the Group of Experts of AI in Healthcare. Doctor Valentina Beretta is the Teaching Manager of the project.

The University of Pavia will be supported by Goethe University (D), Keele University (UK), Leibniz University Hannover (D) and University of Ljubljana (SL).

The overall grant is 1,664,557 euros with a share of 759,518 euros for UNIPV.
