(English below) Si avvicina la seconda edizione del PhD Intensive Course di EC2U (European Campus of City Universities) su “Machine learning techniques & text processing tools applied to the study of linguistic diversity & cultural perceptions” che si svolgerà a Pavia dal 6 all’8 giugno 2023.
Il training, organizzato in collaborazione con l’Università di Poitiers e l’Università di Turku, all’interno del Virtual Institute for Quality Education, sarà ospitato in questa edizione dall’Università di Pavia e organizzato localmente dalla Professoressa Elisabetta Jezek e dalla dottoranda Costanza Marini.
Uno scientific committee internazionale composto dai docenti Elisabetta Jezek (Università di Pavia), Kristiina Taivalkoski-Shilov (Università di Turku), Freiderikos Valetopoulos (Università di Poitiers), ha selezionato fino a 5 dottorandi iscritti nel campo delle scienze umanistiche e sociali, da ciascuna delle università partner di EC2U.
Gli studenti, che arriveranno a Pavia il 5 giugno, riceveranno una borsa di studio EC2U per partecipare al training.
Nei tre giorni successivi gli studenti seguiranno workshop e lezioni su digital linguistics, machine learning, text processing tools, translation technologies. Non mancheranno inoltre attività culturali e di socialità con gli altri studenti EC2U e con la comunità dell’Università di Pavia.

The second edition of the EC2U (European Campus of City Universities) PhD Intensive Course on “Machine learning techniques & text processing tools applied to the study of linguistic diversity & cultural perceptions” is approaching and will take place in Pavia from 6 to 8 June 2023.
The training, organized in collaboration with the University of Poitiers and the University of Turku, within the Virtual Institute for Quality Education, will be hosted in this edition by the University of Pavia and organized locally by Professor Elisabetta Jezek and PhD candidate Costanza Marini.
An international scientific committee composed of professors Elisabetta Jezek (University of Pavia), Kristiina Taivalkoski-Shilov (University of Turku), Freiderikos Valetopoulos (University of Poitiers), has selected up to 5 doctoral students enrolled in the field of humanities and social sciences, from each of the partner universities by EC2U.
The students, who will arrive in Pavia on 5 June, will receive an EC2U scholarship to participate in the training.
In the following three days, students will attend workshops and lessons on digital linguistics, machine learning, text processing tools, translation technologies. There will also be cultural and social activities with the other EC2U students and with the community of the University of Pavia.
