(English below – EC2U Summer School within Pavia’s historical setting) A metà settembre si è svolta la Summer School di EC2U “Transgenerational Ageing & Gendered Life-Cycle Approach”. L’attività ha coinvolto diversi studenti e professori provenienti dai 7 atenei dell’Alleanza EC2U.
Durante questa entusiasmante settimana, gli studenti sono stati coinvolti non solo nelle lezioni sui temi di carattere medico e sociale, ma hanno anche scoperto la storia e cultura pavese. Le lezioni si sono svolte presso l’elegante palazzo Vistarino: le sue stanze affrescate hanno incantato gli studenti, che non hanno potuto fare a meno di fotografarlo!
I docenti dell’Alleanza hanno condiviso la propria conoscenza, con un approccio centrato sugli studenti, dando loro spazio per discutere delle tematiche proposte, in un contesto davvero multiculturale e stimolante. Per la presentazione finale, gli studenti sono stati suddivisi in gruppi di lavoro ed è stato loro chiesto di pianificare progetti e attività volti a migliorare la salute psico-fisica media di dipendenti e alunni dell’ateneo.
Dopo le presentazioni, la Prof.ssa Rossella Nappi non ha nascosto la sua felicità e approvazione:
“Bellissimi lavori! Potrebbero portare miglioramenti concreti fin da subito se venissero applicati! Gli studenti sono spinti ad avere un ruolo attivo nella struttura universitaria e non devono essere considerati solo come attori passivi ai quali riversare informazioni teoriche: dialoghi intergenerazionali e interculturali sono la base del progresso nella visione che l’alleanza cerca di portare avanti”.
È stato organizzato, inoltre, un piacevole pomeriggio per i ragazzi al parco del Ticino, in collaborazione con l’associazione sportiva CUS Pavia, durante il quale il Prof. Iulian Dumitru dell’Università Alexandru Ioan Cuza di Iaşi ha tenuto una lezione pratica focalizzata sull’attività fisica e riabilitativa a supporto degli individui anziani, in particolare affetti da osteoporosi. Sono state svolte attività di gruppo che hanno generato grande unione tra i ragazzi, come il rafting sul Ticino e il tour guidato all’interno dell’Orto Botanico dell’Università, seguito in serata dalle attività sociali organizzate da ESN Pavia. Anche la visita al Museo Kosmos ha risvegliato interesse in studenti e professori attraverso l’appassionante storia dell’avventuroso Spallanzani e di come essa si intreccia con le sue scoperte naturalistiche.
“Riconnettersi con la natura all’Orto Botanico e conoscere i percorsi entusiasmanti di Spallanzani è stato davvero divertente!” hanno raccontato alcuni studenti.
Gli studenti hanno dimostrato entusiasmo durante tutta la durata della settimana e non hanno esitato a dare dei feedback molto positivi, volenterosi e frementi per la prossima opportunità di partecipare a un progetto EC2U!

EC2U Summer School within Pavia’s historical setting
Right in the middle of September, Pavia hosted the EC2U’s Summer School: “Transgenerational Ageing & Gendered Life-Cycle Approach”. The activity involved different students and professors from the seven EC2U Alliance universities.
During this exciting week, the students have been involved in a lot of medical and sociological-centred lectures and they also had the opportunity to discover Pavia’s history and culture. The lectures took place at the beautiful Palazzo Vistarino: its painted rooms amazed the students, who took several pictures with their phones!
The professors of the Alliance shared their knowledge, with a really student-centred approach, leaving the students plenty of space to discuss the ideas proposed, in a multicultural and stimulating environment. For their final presentation, students have been divided into groups and were asked to propose solutions to improve university students and workers’ quality of life.
After the presentations, Prof. Rossella Nappi couldn’t hold her happiness and approval:
“Amazing job! It could lead to real improvement in a matter of a few weeks if applied right away! Students are encouraged to play an active role in the university structure and should not be considered only as passive actors to only impart theoretical knowledge to: intergenerational and multicultural dialogue is the basis for advancing the vision that the alliance seeks to achieve”.
The students also took part to a pleasant afternoon activity at the Ticino park, in collaboration with the sports association CUS Pavia, during which Prof. Iulian Dumitru of the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iaşi gave a practical lesson focused on physical activity and rehabilitation in support of elderly individuals, in particular suffering from osteoporosis.
Group activities have been carried out and they generated a great sense of unity among the guys, such as rafting on the Ticino river and the guided tour inside the Botanical Garden of the university, followed in the evening by social activities organised by ESN Pavia. The visit to the Kosmos museum has also awakened interest in students and professors through the exciting history of the adventurous Spallanzani and how it intertwines with its naturalistic discoveries.
“Reconnecting with nature in the Botanical Garden and learning about Spallanzani’s thrilling voyages was really fun!” some students said.
The students showed interest and passion all week long and didn’t hesitate to write down their feedback and their propensity to participate as soon as possible in the next project organised by EC2U!
