The European commission has just published the new Erasmus + 2022 calls, for which a budget increase of approximately 3.9 billion euros has been foreseen.

A greater concentration of budget was dedicated to activities related to Higher Education Institutions and in particular to Capacity Building, divided this year into actions dedicated to promoting access to cooperation, partnerships for transformation and structural reform projects. In addition, an important increase was dedicated geographically to the countries of sub-Saharan Africa and the Western Balkans.

The new calls also include some innovations, including:

  • Forward-looking projects: new large-scale projects that will support high-quality, inclusive digital education and the adaptation of education and training systems to the green transition.
  • Increased exchanges with third countries: they will have the opportunity to participate in targeted projects and exchanges, in particular in the fields of education and vocational training and sport.
  • Approaching the European Union to schools: Jean Monnet actions, which promote education on the EU, will be extended to schools and pupils of all ages.
  • Easier financing of cooperation projects: beneficiaries of cooperation partnerships will be able to apply for funding through lump sums, thus also simplifying the reporting process.

The international relations area is available to support professors both in the pre-application and application phase, and for management support after project approval.
