La Prof. Giulia Grancini, che ha preso servizio recentemente presso il Dipartimento di Chimica dell’Università di Pavia, responsabile del progetto ERC Starting Grant HYNANO, ha ricevuto lo scorso 8 novembre 2019 il premio internazionale USERN 2019 per le Science Fisiche e Chimiche durante il Congresso USERN2019 a Budapest (https://usern.tums.ac.ir). Il riconoscimento internazionale premia gli scienziati sotto i 40 anni che hanno ottenuto risultati significativi nel campo della Fisica-Chimica. Giulia è stata selezionata da una commissione internazionale composta da premi Nobel e scienziati internazionali per la sua ricerca sull’energia solare di nuova generazione.
Durante il congresso, la Prof. Grancini è stata anche nominata USERN Ambassador per l’Italia, ruolo che coprirà dal 1° gennaio 2020, con l’obiettivo di promuovere e sviluppare la ricerca scientifica a livello globale e multidisciplinare e supportare e incoraggiare la crescita dei giovani scienziati (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USERN). Prof. Giulia Grancini, working at the University of Pavia’s Chemistry Department and Principal Investigator of the ERC Starting Grant HYNANO, has been nominated USERN 2019 Laureate in Physical Science during the USERN Congress and Festival in Budapest on the 8th November 2019 (https://usern.tums.ac.ir).
The USERN prize is an international award, established by USERN which is annually bestowed on scientists or researchers less than 40 years of age who have conducted a significant advancement or achievement in research. Giulia has been refereed and scored by an international jury composed of Nobel laureates and top 1% scientists and awarded for her recent breakthroughs in new generation photovoltaic technologies.
During the congress, Prof. Grancini has been elected USERN Ambassador for Italy from 1st January 2020 with the aim of promoting interdisciplinary science and research at international level and motivating and encouraging junior scientists, in full line with her present mission as Board Member of the European Young Academy, nominated last 22nd October in Barcelona (http://yacadeuro.org/news-and-activities/).
