Venerdì 5 ottobre 2018, alle ore 15.00, presso l’Aula Magna dell’Università di Pavia, si terrà la White Coat Ceremony dell’Harvey Medicine and Surgery Course.
L’evento – alla sua seconda edizione, dopo il grande successo della prima edizione tenutasi il 6 ottobre 2017 – si ripropone anche quest’anno per gli studenti del corso di medicina in lingua inglese “Harvey”.
Durante tale occasione, gli studenti dal terzo anno in su riceveranno dai docenti del corso i camici ospedalieri che segnano l’inizio vero e proprio del periodo di tirocinio in ospedali e cliniche pavesi, che si svolge dal terzo al sesto anno di corso.
Gli studenti, dopo aver ricevuto e indossato i camici, saranno chiamati a recitare all’unisono il Giuramento di Ippocrate (Hyppocratic Oath).
Questa tipologia di cerimonia è molto in voga nelle facoltà di medicina statunitensi, britanniche e internazionali e, dallo scorso anno, anche il corso di medicina Harvey ha deciso di proporre questo evento per i suoi studenti.
La cerimonia si terrà interamente in lingua inglese e prevederà piccoli interventi da parte di alcuni docenti del corso di medicina in inglese nonché del Presidente del Corso di Laurea.

This ceremony, currently at its second edition after the first great success of 2017, will be organised again for 2018 and it is addressed to the Harvey Course students.
During the ceremony, Harvey students from the third year and upwards will receive and wear their white coats, delivered by some lecturers of the course. This event marks their official beginning of the clinical traineeship period in Pavia’s clinics and hospitals – from year 3 up to year 6.
After the delivery of the white coat, Harvey students will be called to recite together the Hippocratic Oath.
This ceremony is well known mostly in American, British and foreign universities for medical students, and since 2017 the University of Pavia offered the same opportunity for its Harvey students.
The ceremony will be entirely held in English and will include some brief speeches by Harvey lecturers and professors, as well as by the Dean of the Harvey Course.
