From 7 to 9 June 2022, Professor Antonio M. Morone, from the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Pavia, went on a mission to Béjaïa (Algeria) as part of the ESAGOV project.

The ESAGOV project is an Erasmus + capacity building project aimed at improving and strengthening the quality approach to governance in Algerian universities. The University of Pavia has been participating in the project as a partner since 15 January 2019, with an active involvement, in the various working groups, of the Departments of Political and Social Sciences and Economic and Business Sciences.

This meeting was structured around 2 highlights: the workshop on the management of the plant project review and the 8th partner meeting:

– The steering workshop was an opportunity for the Algerian partners to present their situation on the implementation of their action plan for the review of the plant project, to share the tools used and the steps taken, the strengths and weakness. This round table made it possible to show the dynamism of the partners despite the difficulties and to start a common dynamic for the finalization of this process.

– The meeting of the Béjaïa partners was an opportunity to take stock of the implementation of the project and to start organizing study visits in Europe. The presence of the Rectors of Béjaia, Skikda and Tizi Ouzou, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education, testified to the importance of this project. Beyond the human significance of these meetings, these meetings were an important moment in the life of the project.
