Relatori invitati confermati:

Alberto Guadagnini, Politecnico di Milano, Italia
Colin Fox, University of Otago, Nuova Zelanda
Marco Iglesias, University of Nottingham, Regno Unito
Ahmed H. ElSheikh, Heriot-Watt University, Regno Unito

English Version

The second outreach workshop “Frontiers of Uncertainty Quantification” (FrontUQ) organized by the GAMM Activity Group on Uncertainty Quantification will be held on September 5-7, 2018 in Pavia, with focus on Uncertainty Quantification in Subsurface Environments (https://frontuq18.org).

Subsurface environments host natural resources which are critical to the needs of our society and to its development. The diversity of problems encountered in subsurface modeling calls for multi-disciplinary research efforts, with contributions from a wide range of fields including, e.g., mathematics, hydrology, geology, physics and biogeochemistry. Both advances in dedicated uncertainty quantification numerical techniques and real-world test cases will be discussed during the worskhop.

Confirmed invited speakers:

Alberto Guadagnini, Politecnico di Milano, Italy
Colin Fox, University of Otago, New Zealand
Marco Iglesias, University of Nottingham, UK
Monica Riva, Politecnico di Milano, Italy
Ahmed H. ElSheikh, Heriot-Watt University, UK

The FrontUQ18 workshop will team up with the Interpore Italian Chapter meeting! The International Society for Porous Media (InterPore) aims to advance and disseminate knowledge for the understanding, description, and modeling of natural and industrial porous media systems. The Interpore Italian Chapter will be held on in Pavia Friday afternoon, September 7th, after the end of the FrontUQ workshop.
